My Ship’s Lighthouse

To guard a wrecked ship as it is mine. It’s hull being I damaged as it crashes upon troublesome rocks. Constantly thrashed by this stormy night’s sea. I vow to hold steady as the lighthouse. It is my post and I shall never abandon it. I will no longer allow the sea take what is left of my ship. I will hold fast. My beacon will shine bright. I will not falter. The sea cannot wash away your pieces just yet. Be patient as I bring the new day’s sunrise and your hull can be fixed. I know that if I would have surrendered my post, all would be broken and your pieces sure to wash away. So here is where I’ll remain, steady and strong. The morning sun will dry and mend all of your planks. I promise my light will never lead you astray. You see, I heard you from miles away – yelling and screaming about how badly you wanted to abandon ship. Please know it’s not my fault for not shining brighter sooner, my beacon was merely warning up. Burning brighter than ever I’m here now to silence those screams by filling your head with our wildest dreams! Damn all those ferocious winds whirling around, telling tall tales trying to make you drown. The raging swells of your darkest ocean is surely causing an unwelcome commotion. Resiliently I rise, with my unexpected potion; and alas I send the churning tides back out to ocean. You’re now safe in my harbor! For I am your Dawn that brings morning’s light! Take care of this lighthouse as it’s now yours and I’ll forever be your beacon through any darkness ahead. I’m precious cargo here to comfort you as you lay in your bed. I’m your guard through the darkest of hours and you’re forever my battered ship. A light with a purpose, that infinitely remains, the brightest of beacons during your darkest of rains. A lesson to be known, a battered vessels cannot sail all on it’s own. Together we will work to guide you safely home. This journey now ours so you’ll never be alone. 02/24/23
